Overview
The Member Engagement Dashboard gives you a bird's-eye view of how actively your members are participating across your organisation. It brings together data from events, committees, donations, your shop, and login activity into a single score (0–100) for every member, updated daily.
Rather than guessing who's engaged and who's drifting away, the dashboard surfaces this automatically, helping you focus your time on the members who need attention.
NOTE: Engagement scores are calculated automatically based on data recorded in the system, such as event bookings, committee meeting attendance, donations, shop orders, and login activity. They reflect what the system knows about a member's activity and are only as accurate as the data entered, for example, if meeting attendance isn't recorded, it won't be reflected in the score. Scores are intended as a guide to help identify trends and patterns, not as a definitive measure of a member's involvement with your organisation.
Login as Member
The login tracking does not get affected by using the "login as member" option within the Admin Portal for a member, so this is still suitable to use without skewing the metrics.
Where to find it
Navigate to Members → Member Engagement in the sidebar.
How scoring works
Each member receives an engagement score between 0 and 100, based on their activity over the last 12 months. The score is made up of several metrics, each with a different weight reflecting its importance:
Metric | What it measures | Default weight |
|---|---|---|
| Event Attendance | How many eligible events the member attended | 35% |
| Event Guests | How many guests the member brought to events | 10% |
| Committees | Committee membership and meeting attendance | 25% |
| Donations | Donation activity, including recurring donations | 10% |
| Shop Orders | Purchases from the members shop | 5% |
| Login Recency | How recently the member logged in to the members area | 15% |
Adaptive scoring
Not every organisation uses all of these features. If your organisation doesn't use committees, donations, or the shop, those metrics are automatically excluded and the remaining weights are adjusted so scores are still fair and comparable. You'll only see columns for the metrics that apply to your organisation.
Custom weighting
Whilst all clients use the default scoring above, these can be customised per client if you feel that weights should be distributed differently. If you wish to have your weights adjusted please contact support@memb.rs.
Fair scoring for events
Event attendance is eligibility-aware, the system only counts events a member was actually eligible to attend, based on ticket restrictions and segments. A member won't be penalised for missing an event they weren't invited to.
Fair scoring for new members
Members who joined recently are only measured against activity since they joined. A member who joined 3 months ago and attended all 3 eligible events scores the same as a long-standing member who attended all 12, both are fully engaged relative to their opportunity.
Engagement statuses
Each score maps to a status label, making it easy to see at a glance how a member is doing:
| Status | Score range | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Excellent | 80–100 | Highly active across multiple areas |
| Good | 65–79 | Regularly engaged with solid participation |
| Average | 50–64 | Moderate activity - attending some events, occasional other activity |
| Occasional | 30–49 | Some participation but not consistent |
| Minimal | 10–29 | Very low activity |
| Rare | 1–9 | Almost no activity in the last 12 months |
| None | 0 | No recorded activity in the last 12 months |
What the dashboard shows you
Distribution chart
At the top of the page, a chart shows how your members are distributed across the engagement statuses. You can toggle between a doughnut chart and a bar chart using the buttons in the card header.
Insight cards
Four insight cards highlight key trends:
- Trending Up - members whose engagement has improved over the last few months
- Trending Down - members whose engagement has declined over the last few months
- Declining & Engaged - members with a prior average score ≥ 40 who have not engaged recently, suggesting they may be losing interest
- Significant Decline — declining trend and their score dropped 15+ points vs 12 months ago
Click any insight card to filter the table below to show just those members.
Status badges
Below the chart, colour-coded status badges show the count of members in each status. Click a badge to filter the table to that status.
Member table
The main table lists all members with their engagement score, status, trend direction, and individual metric scores. You can:
- Sort by score or trend using the column headers
- Search by member name
- Filter by engagement status (click a badge), member status (active/inactive), or trend direction
- Click a row to view that member's detailed engagement page
Inactive members are marked with an INACTIVE badge next to their name.
Export and copy
- Export CSV - downloads all filtered results as a spreadsheet, including only the metric columns relevant to your organisation
- Copy Emails - copies all filtered members' email addresses to your clipboard, ready to paste into an email client
What it can tell you about your members
- Who's most engaged - filter by "Excellent" or "Good" to find your most active members, ideal for committee nominations or event ambassadors
- Who's disengaging - the "Trending Down" insight card highlights members whose participation is declining, giving you a chance to reach out before they lapse
- Which areas drive engagement - the per-metric columns show whether your members are primarily engaged through events, committees, donations, or other channels
- New member onboarding - check how recently joined members are engaging in their first few months
How often is data updated?
Engagement scores are recalculated daily. When you view a member's profile, their score is also calculated live to ensure you always see the latest data.
Members list integration
Engagement Score and Engagement Status are also available as column options in the main members list. Use the column picker and look under the "Engagement" group to add them.
