NOTE: Whilst we refer to Membership Types in this article, your client may be set up to refer to them as Quarterage Types.
Your organisation may currently have various levels or types of memberships based on various criteria, such as age, education or status within your organisation, these may have varying levels of monthly or annual costs associated with them.
An example is shown below of the options available:
Membership Types allows you to create these types of memberships within memb.rs to more easily manage and track members within the system.
To create a Membership Type, select the Membership Type from the left hand menu, this will show a page similar to the example above.
Press the New Membership Type button, this will open a new input box where you can add the various details of the membership type.
Shown below is an example with fields completed.
Name: The name you wish to give the membership.
Display Name: The name shown to members.
Subscription Price
This is the monthly or Annual price for the membership, it is not required but if the membership has a cost then it should be added so that members can be charged correctly.
Annual Instalments
If a membership subscription can be taken in instalments then add the appropriate costs for each.
Entity
This is either Member or Organisation Member. Typically this can be left at Member unless you are creating the Membership Type against an organisation.
Accepted Payment Methods
Shown in this section are the available payment methods for your client, you may choose which of these can be used by members for this membership.
This is useful because you may wish to provide a reduced cost membership type for those members who pay by Direct Debit (GoCardless).
Once completed, press the Submit button to save the Membership Type, when the Membership Type has been successfully saved you will receive a notification in the top right of the screen.
The Membership Types page will automatically update with the new Membership Type.
Membership Types can be edited by pressing the Edit button, where an input box will be shown, allowing for the various fields to be updated.
