When ready to go live with your members area there are typically a few steps that should be carried out.
It is advised to notify your members (typically by email) of the new members area and to expect a registration email, which will reduce the possibility of members assuming the registration email is unrequested or spam.
Making Members Active
For members to receive system emails and to be able to register and login to the members area they must have a status of "active" in Memb.rs.
This can be changed manually per member as required, however, depending on the criteria for making a member active, can be done in bulk by us.
For example, if you only wish to make those members who have specific company statuses active (Freeman, Liveryman etc).
Registration Email
Whilst each clients emails will be branded and themed appropriately, the registration email will typically look like the following:
NOTE: The email will appear to be sent from an agreed upon email address within your domain.
The following text can be customised based on your requirements, please inform us if you wish this to be amended.
You have been given access to the new members’ area of The Demo Company website, please use the link below to choose a password.
Once you have chosen a password and logged in, you will be asked to choose which details appear in your profile in the members' directory.
If you do not wish to appear in the directory, please contact the Membership Team.
As each registration or password reset email link is unique, each time it is generated by sending the email to the member they must only use the most recent email link, as the previous links become invalidated.
The rest of the registration email provides details on how to register (a link to the registration page) and information on password requirements.
Passwords
Memb.rs does not generate passwords for accounts, these must be created by the member on the registration page.
Passwords cannot be recovered or viewed from a member record, as they are one way encrypted when created, so if the member forgets their password they must use the Forgotten Your Password? option on the login page of your Members Area to request a password reset email, where they can then reset their password.
Sending Registration Emails
A registration email can be send individually on an ad hoc basis from the Admin Portal, however for the initial onboarding where you may have several hundred members to send registration emails to this can be done by us in bulk, based on which members have been made active from the Making Members Active section above.
This process typically takes 30 minutes, depending on the number of members to send emails to.
Once completed we can also advise of any emails that have failed and the reason.

Members must register with the email address that the registration email was sent to, i.e. the email address stored against them in their profile:

As the system relies on the members system clock being correct for token validation, some members may find that if their system clock is incorrect they have issues logging in to, or staying logged in to the members area. Please follow this guide:

Memb.rs requires the use of a modern web browser for functionality. Some members who use an older web browser may only see a basic text page.
