Overview
To send out registration/password reset emails to multiple members the Bulk Email Registration/Password Resets tool can be used can be used, which is found in the Members section of the Admin Portal, as shown below.
This tool checks the email addresses added to the list against your members email addresses. If it finds a match then it checks if the user has a status of "active", if they do then it checks if they are registered or not, if they are then they are sent a password reset email, if they are not registered then it will send a registration email.
Email addresses added which do not match a member are shown as failed and are skipped.
Members who are not active (eg inactive, non-member or archived) are also skipped.
Which will show this page:
Usage
Either manually add the email addresses for the members you wish to send emails to, you can use the Copy Email Addresses function on the members list or a segment view to copy those matching members email addresses.
These email addresses must be separated by comma, semi-colon or a new line.
The Format List button can be used to format the email addresses entered.
The calculated time is approximate, based on an interval of half a second between emails, and the time it will take the system to process each email.
Load Emails From Segment
Alternatively use the Load emails from segment option, which will show a dropdown menu of all segments in your client.
NOTE: Whilst it shows all segments, it does not check if these segments contain active/inactive members etc. It is advised that a segment is created, such as Active & Unregistered members, using the Advanced Search option in the Members list.
Selecting a segment will retrieve all email addresses for those members in that segment.
NOTE: If a member does not have an email address then it will be skipped.
Below is the Active & Unregistered email addresses of the matching members:
The page will display how many email addresses are listed underneath the text area:
As well as the time estimate for sending all of the emails:
This time is approximate, based on an interval of 1 second between emails, and the time it will take the system to process each email.
Once the appropriate emails are added use the Send Emails button to start the process of sending the emails to the listed email addresses.
NOTE: Once this button is pressed do not navigate away from the page, as this will cancel the process.
Once pressed the page will show the progress, how many emails have been processed, which email is being currently processed, the successes and failures (if any).
The Cancel button can be used to halt the process, stopping after the currently shown email address is processed.
Once complete the page will appear similar to below, with the summary shown.
An example failures summary is shown below:
Any failures should be reviewed, for example if the member status is not active, if the email address does not match a members email address etc.
