2022-04 Release Notes

Below are details of the recent major updates to the Members Admin and Members Area.

Members Admin

Members Profile

• Notes & Bio fields can now be cleared and saved correctly, previously if these had content in them and this was cleared and saved the content would not be updated and the previous text returned.

• Committee meetings can now have an external URL added

Events

• Bookings can now be edited from within the admin area. Within the booking details there is now an Edit option in the top right.

• Bookings can now be cancelled from within the admin area. Within the booking details there is now a Cancel Booking option in the top right.

• New transaction(s) can be added to a booking, for example if you have updated the booking in the admin area and added an additional guest. Create a new transaction using the New Transaction button to record this. If a member has a saved credit or debit card or GoCardless mandate then this can be charged, or use an offline payment method.

IN PROGRESS:

We are working on correcting the booking balance logic, at present this does not update correctly if a transaction is updated or added in the admin area.

Pages

The page layout has now been updated, this includes:

• Wider text area to use more of the page space
• Content layout has been centred on the page, previously it was set to the left of the page

• Cards now don't require text to be added to them
• Buttons can be used on their own with card images
• This allows for better formatting when using cards for images only, showing only the image and not the text section below it

• Pages title text now has a shadow against it to provide better legibility against lighter header images

Text formatting is now displayed correctly on pages.

• Text Alignment (left, right, justified and centre) now displays correctly

• Indentation now displays correctly, 3 levels of indentation can be used

• Code blocks now display white monospace text on a dark background

• Longer lines of code block text will show a horizontal scrollbar to preserve text formatting

• Quotes are now displayed correctly in a quote box

• Documents now show a respective document icon next to it

• The layout of uploaded images has been updated, images are now displayed centrally on the Members Area page

• Button "Preview of button" text now correctly displays the text entered in the "Link Text" section within the Pages editor

Shop

• The Shop section has now been completed and enabled, allowing for you to view any orders made

Orders

• Clicking on any of the orders will show the details for the the order, including an itemised table or product(s) ordered

Products

• Products can be created and managed through the Products page, including setting price, description and variations of the product (for example, different sizes of a product)

• Products can be listed that are not sold from within the Members Area, eg for products that members can only purchase on an external website
• When editing a product there is an option to set a checkbox for "Product sold on external website?", which, if checked, will show a field for adding in the link to the external product website page
• Also, if this is checked, then within the Shop of the Members Area, the product will now not show options to purchase the product within the Members Area, instead a button with the link is displayed

• The layout of the meetings has been updated to use collapsible cards, this is to make the page more compact when there are a large amount of meetings
• Each meeting can be expanded by clicking on the meeting description in the grey box

Events

• The "Amend booking" button is now disabled unless a change is made to the booking, previously it was possible to press the "Amend booking" button even if no changes had been made

Pages

• Vimeo videos now display correctly when embedded in a page

Shop

• Products that are not sold through the Members Area will now not show an option to purchase that product, instead, a button is shown which contains a link to the website that the product can be purchased on

Members Area

The layout of uploaded images has been updated, images are now displayed centrally on the Members Area page. Respective image text width is set to match the chosen image size.

The options for images are:

Content Width

• Images will be displayed based on their width in pixels
• This should be used when needing to display the image at its actual size, not scaled up
• Images larger than the page area will be scaled to fit the page section

 

Wider

• Images will be set to be 90% of the width of the page

 

Viewport Width

• Images will be scaled (up or down) to the full width of the page area
• Lower resolution images may become pixelated/blurry using this option
