Adding Products

The Shop allows for adding various products for sale in the main members area.

Go to the administration area and select the Shop > Products and either of the On Sale or Draft sections from the left hand panel.

You will see a page similar to below, depending on the number of products already added.

Press the green Add Product button at the top of the page.

A new dialog window will appear, as shown below, with required fields highlighted in red.

Add the various details for the product, some fields are required and must be completed and are highlighted in red around the field, these are:

• Title
• Product status

At least one variant must be added, and all fields in a variant should be completed (see the Variants section below).

Product Status

By default a new product is set as Draft status, meaning that it is not visible in the Members Area Shop section.

Once all product details are added this can be set to On Sale, which will allow it to be purchased in the Members Area.

To archive a product, set the status to Archived.

Featured Product

Products are typically ordered by creation date, newest first. However the Products List does allow ordering of the products.

To push a product to the start of the products list then the Featured Product checkbox can be used.

Multiple products may have this ticked.

The ordering in the Members Area Shop will be by featured status and the products order, then non-featured products and their ordering.

Externally Sold Products

If a product is only available to be purchased on an external website, then this should be ticked.

An additional text field will then be shown where the link to the product can be added, and the "add to cart" option is not displayed.

The Product Description area can be formatted (such as by adding lists and headings) similar to the Pages editor.

Images

Images of products can be added to the product, these will be automatically cropped to a square format, so appropriate images should be used to avoid cropping part of the product.

Variants

One or more variants of a product can be added, for example if the main product is a tie, then you would add variants for different colours, sizes or designs.

At least one variant must be added to create a product.

Title

This should be descriptive of the variant, so that the member can understand what they are selecting.

The members area displays the list of products, and then a dropdown menu to choose the variant form it, which is where the title is used, as shown below.

Inventory

NOTE: The system will automatically reduce inventory levels for variants when they are sold, and will show as sold out once it reaches 0, therefore an accurate number should be added in this field to ensure you have enough stock level for orders.

When a product inventory level reaches 0 an automated system email, similar to below, will be sent to the admin email addresses (this can be changed by contacting us).

Below is an example of a completed product.

Press the green Submit button once completed.

The newly added product will be shown in the Shop administration area.

Once a product has been added and it has a status of On Sale then it is automatically listed in the members area Shop section for purchase.

If a product has a status of Draft then it is located in the Draft section of the Shop in the admin portal, and is not displayed in the members area.
